California’s biggest whitewater festival- Feather Fest – is held annually on the fourth weekend in September to coincide with the Rock Creek Dam scheduled release.

What: American Whitewater is hosting a river festival including: film festival, class II slalom races for all vessels and levels, class V downriver race, primitive camping, dinner, beer, party, silent auction, raffle prizes, clinics and scheduled water releases from Rock Creek Dam for boating opportunities on the North Fork Feather River. This event is fun for all with stretches of river for all levels of boaters. It’s a family friendly weekend, though after 10pm Saturday’s party is more appropriate for adults.

***Proceeds from the weekend go towards supporting American Whitewater in their mission to conserve and restore America’s whitewater resources and to enhance opportunities to enjoy them safely. By supporting AW, you are supporting your voice to be heard when river access, water quality and dam releases are at stake!

Where: The “Indian Jim” School and adjacent campground located at Plumas County mile marker 8.22 on Highway 70 near Tobin, CA. Search “Injun Jim Campground” on Google Maps for location.   Map to Indian Jim
